Carl the caterpillar saw a yummy, green leaf at the very top of a tall plant. He really wanted to eat it! Carl started to climb. The stem was sticky and hard to hold onto. He slipped and slid down a bit. But Carl didn't give up. He held on tight and pulled himself up, inch by slow inch. A ladybug landed on his back, tickling him, but Carl kept going.
