Carl the caterpillar saw a yummy, green leaf at the very top of a tall plant. He really wanted to eat it! Carl started to climb. The stem was sticky and hard to hold onto. He slipped and slid down a bit. But Carl didn't give up. He held on tight and pulled himself up, inch by slow inch. A ladybug landed on his back, tickling him, but Carl kept going. Finally, after a long climb, Carl reached the juicy leaf. He munched and munched, happy he had tried his best. Moral of the story : Perseverance helps you reach your goals.
